How To Set Grub 2 Password Protection

Few days ago after I've posted post "How To Reset Forgotten Ubuntu Password", someone ask me (or maybe not ask but give an opinion) about the security of Linux (we all know, "security" is one of the majority feature that Linux offered to us). How about the security if we can reset the root password as easy as that my post said.
After that, I think about that. And I haven't found the answer until now. But, I've got this useful tutorial from Ubuntu Forum. How we can set password protection to our GRUB

How To Reset Windows Password Using Ubuntu

I have a funny experience. Few days ago, my senior (at my office) ask me to change his computer password (Windows XP Professional). He said, "...please tell me how to change my password. Just tell me the way and I'll change the password by myself...". When I asked him the reason, his answer is "...so you can't use my computer anymore..." :D
Yesterday, he called me. "...panoet, do you know my new password?..." and of course "NO" is my answer. "...Why you ask to me? Yesterday you've changed your password. Right?...". Guess, what his answer?
"I've forgotten my new password!"! LOL, I think. Yesterday you want to change your password so I can't use your computer and know you ask me the password because you've forgotten your new password. Is it sounds silly, right?
Have you ever experienced anything like that? Lost your Windows password? If you have, how to fix that?

New Google Great Feature Again: Blogger Stats, Analytics In Your Dashboard

Do you using Google Analytics or other third tools to track your blog? If you're using Google Analytics, you're lucky! Now you don't need to visit Google Analytics homepage, because it's inside your dashboard!
new google feature: blogger stats
Google said:
"The coolest thing about the new Blogger Stats is that it monitors and analyzes your visitor traffic in near-real-time. You can see which posts are getting the most visits and which sites are sending traffic to your blogright now. For example, if a reader shares one of your blog posts on Twitter and the post is getting lots of clicks, you will see a traffic increase in Blogger Stats almost instantly, with the particular Tweet mentioning yourpost being identified as the traffic source. Of course, traffic data across longer time periods (day/week/month) and all-time historical data are available as well." This is true! We can track every post, so we can know what our blog visitor interested in. It means we can post similar things again, to make "loyality" from our visitor. Besides that, we can determine what periode will be displayed. In general, all of common Google Analytics feature is there!

6 Reasons Apple Hate Flash

6 reasons apple iphone ipad ipod hate adobe flash
When surfing on the internet, I found this from Apple Official website:

  1. There’s “Open”
  2. Adobe’s Flash products are 100% proprietary. They are only available from Adobe, and Adobe has sole authority as to their future enhancement, pricing, etc. While Adobe’s Flash products are widely available, this does not mean they are open, since they are controlled entirely by Adobe and available only from Adobe. By almost any definition, Flash is a closed system.
Apple has many proprietary products too. Though the operating system for the iPhone, iPod and iPad is proprietary, we strongly believe that all standards pertaining to the web should be open. Rather than use Flash, Apple has adopted HTML5, CSS and JavaScript – all open standards. Apple’s mobile devices all ship with high performance, low power implementations of these open standards. HTML5, the new web standard that has been adopted by Apple, Google and many others, lets web developers create advanced graphics, typography, animations and transitions without relying on third party browser plug-ins (like Flash). HTML5 is completely open and controlled by a standards committee, of which Apple is a member.
Apple even creates open standards for the web. For example, Apple began with a small open source project and created WebKit, a complete open-source HTML5 rendering engine that is the heart of the Safari web browser used in all our products. WebKit has been widely adopted. Google uses it for Android’s browser, Palm uses it, Nokia uses it, and RIM (Blackberry) has announced they will use it too. Almost every smartphone web browser other than Microsoft’s uses WebKit. By making its WebKit technology open, Apple has set the standard for mobile web browsers.
  3. There’s the “full web”
  4. Adobe has repeatedly said that Apple mobile devices cannot access “the full web” because 75% of video on the web is in Flash. What they don’t say is that almost all this video is also available in a more modern format, H.264, and viewable on iPhones, iPods and iPads. YouTube, with an estimated 40% of the web’s video, shines in an app bundled on all Apple mobile devices, with the iPad offering perhaps the best YouTube discovery and viewing experience ever. Add to this video from Vimeo, Netflix, Facebook, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, ESPN, NPR, Time, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Sports Illustrated, People, National Geographic, and many, many others. iPhone, iPod and iPad users aren’t missing much video.
Another Adobe claim is that Apple devices cannot play Flash games. This is true. Fortunately, there are over 50,000 games and entertainment titles on the App Store, and many of them are free. There are more games and entertainment titles available for iPhone, iPod and iPad than for any other platform in the world.
