[How To] Recover Ubuntu After Installing Windows

I've used this method on my Ubuntu and worker. Please note that I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 with GRUB2.
Using Ubuntu LIVE CD
Boot your computer into Live Session. Mount your Ubuntu partition you want to be recovered from Places menu. If you have multiple Ubuntu partition (i.e. /home /boot etc), you need to mount /boot partition.

[Firefox Add-on] User Agent Switcher, Masquerade as Another Browser

UPDATE!!!
I just found a forum, and I tried this trick and worked fine. LOL :D
visit forum without register account

I joined a lot of internet forums, one of which is Kaskus. Kaskus is the largest Indonesia forum. There is a uniqueness in Kaskus, where the member who already has a number of posts more than 2000 could give reputation to other users , good or bad reputation. In kaskus, reputation is very important considering Kaskus is also a major online trading site in Indonesia. So, the member who has a good reputation is certainly more credible by potential buyers. Because of that, many of members make a multiple account and write a post as often as possible in order to quickly reach 2000 posts number. With multiple account, it can give reputation to their own another account.
Then, what's the relevance of it with this post? :)
"...as often as possible...", imagine if you open that forum on your mobile and it'll opened as mobile site version! More lighter, more faster. But with you do that on your phone, it'll take a lot of time just for typing the post. Try open the mobile site version on your firefox, it'll automatically redirected to full version because server detected your firefox as your full web browser. I think if I can open mobile site on firefox as mobile site instead of full site, I can post more often because I can open multiple tab, typing more faster, better connection than my phone and much more.
How can I do that? Want to know? Please continue reading this post :)

Simplest Way To Convert *.mp3 Format To *.aac Using Ubuntu

Yesterday I just bought a "second hand" iPod Suffle 1st Generation. Obsolete, but it's my first gadget from that I have :)
Because iPod can play audio files with *.mp3 and *.m4a format, and then how to convert audio files from *.mp3 to *.m4a since *.m4a is the most common format used today?
Just use Nautilus Script Audio Converter, very simple! Run this command to install it:

How To Reset Windows Password Using Ubuntu

I have a funny experience. Few days ago, my senior (at my office) ask me to change his computer password (Windows XP Professional). He said, "...please tell me how to change my password. Just tell me the way and I'll change the password by myself...". When I asked him the reason, his answer is "...so you can't use my computer anymore..." :D
Yesterday, he called me. "...panoet, do you know my new password?..." and of course "NO" is my answer. "...Why you ask to me? Yesterday you've changed your password. Right?...". Guess, what his answer?
"I've forgotten my new password!"! LOL, I think. Yesterday you want to change your password so I can't use your computer and know you ask me the password because you've forgotten your new password. Is it sounds silly, right?
Have you ever experienced anything like that? Lost your Windows password? If you have, how to fix that?

New Google Feature - Google Command Line

Google released a new tool to use the service from Google. Unlike usual, this tool uses command-line interface or better known as the CLI (Command Line Interface). Named GoogleCL.
If you don't understand what it is about the CLI, just imagine DOS in Windows OS. That is one example of the CLI. A 'weird' feature according to me personally, where now all use the GUI but Google returned to the CLI. But clearly I believe Google has the exact reason for making this tool.

When this article was written, GoogleCL can be used to google service:
  • Blogger
    $ google blogger post --title "foo" "command line posting"
  • Calendar
    $ google calendar add "Lunch with Jim at noon tomorrow"
  • Contacts
    $ google contacts list name,email > contacts.csv
  • Docs
    $ google docs edit --title "Shopping list"
  • Picasa
    $ google picasa create --album "Cat Photos" ~/photos/cats/*.jpg
  • Youtube
    $ google youtube post --category Education killer_robots.avi
Please check the official development page site for the last update.
Please visit the official download page to download GoogleCL.
In addition that you may know, I am writing this post using GoogleCL. And if you can read this article, means GoogleCL work well :)
This article sent using GoogleCL and has been edited because of incompatibility with the look of what I want. But in general, GoogleCL can work well.
Additional note, if in the article that you want to upload using GoogleCL have use double quotation marks ("), replace these signs with single quotes (') so GoogleCL can work well.

How To Add Custom Font To Blogger (Like This Blog Header Font)

Adding Custom Fonts to Blogger can improve the look and feel of your blog. Before getting into font embedding lets know how this works. In your templates you can use any font you want, but these would be properly displayed only if the viewer has those fonts installed on his/her System. Font embedding Techniques allows you to use any font on your Blog and these fonts will be viewable to the viewers even if they don’t have the font installed on their Systems. @font-face is the best Font Embedding technique in my opinion but it wont easily work with externally uploaded fonts unless the server has special Access Control Headers for your blog .(blogger wont allow you to upload the font to it’s servers :) So here are certain simple alternative methods to add custom fonts to your blog. These are listed out in an order of my preference :
  1. Google Font API
  2. Kernest Font API
  3. Cufon JavaScript Font Embedding

1. Google Fonts API.

This is the best and robust method to add custom fonts to your blogger blog. It uses the @font-face technique but you needn’t worry about the backend things. You can see a list of available Fonts at the Google Font Directory . When you select a particular Font, Google will provide you with the Embed Code which looks like
image
<link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=FontName' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>

Copy out this code and you have to modify it by changing > at the end of the code to /> That is you have to change the code to something like
<link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=FontName' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'/>

Use Gnokii As Phone Manager On Linux OS

In the Linux OS (especially Ubuntu because I use this distro), most modems on the market can be directly used without requiring a complicated installation, plug and play. So also applies to most mobile phones that have features of a modem. With this simplicity, we can easily enjoy internet services from telecommunication service providers that we use.
But there is one problem, sometimes when we want to manage our sms (sending, receiving, etc.), phone book or anything on the modem that we use (for example, in this case we use the phone as a modem). This becomes a problem of its own in the Linux OS because Linux does not provide the "interface" for doing the things mentioned above. Unlike the Windows OS, which normally provides (in the sense provided by the manufacturer of the hardware itself, not from the Microsoft) special programs for the hardware that we use as a modem. Which point to use all the features in the hardware and the program usually come included in the purchase. This is why most modems can not be directly used in the Windows OS, because Windows OS does not directly include common drivers used by many modems on the market.

Is there a solution?

The answer is YES! Gnokii is the answer. Gnokii allows you to communicate with the phone over the serial cable connection, usb connection (support depends mostly on the operating system level support), infrared connection and bluetooth connection.
Gnokii provides many functionality of different areas for user to manipulate mobile phone.
You can send SMS, receive them and save them in the phone. Gnokii supports delivery reports, picture messages (Nokia own protocol), concatenated messages, wap pushes, unicode messsages. Gnokii allows you to send and receive logos and ringtones over SMS.
